"Video Production Is Too Expensive" — Here's What That Actually Means
When contractors say video is too expensive, they usually mean they got a quote that included strategy sessions, pre-production planning, a full edit, revisions, and delivery in multiple formats. That quote was for a full production engagement. That work has value, but it's not the only option.
Project Media strips the engagement down to the thing most contractors actually need first: footage that looks professional. SMP shows up, films the crew, captures the work in progress, gets a talking head from the owner, flies the drone, and delivers everything color-corrected and ready to edit within 3 days.
The contractor decides what happens next. They can hand the files to whoever edits their content. They can use CapCut. They can hire a VA. They can post the raw footage directly to some platforms. SMP's job ends at delivery.
The price objection disappears when the editing cost comes off the table. What remains is a flat rate for a professional shoot day. No surprises, no scope creep, no contract.
We Removed the Expensive Parts. You Keep the Results.
Pre-production and post-production account for 60–70% of a typical video budget. Project Media removes both. You get the shoot. You handle the rest.

You Take It From There
SMP arrives with professional cameras, a gimbal for smooth ground footage, and a drone for aerial shots. There is no setup delay. The crew gets to work filming the job site immediately.
The talking head is typically 5-10 minutes of on-camera conversation with the owner or project lead. SMP directs the conversation. The client does not need to prepare a script or rehearse anything. The goal is authentic answers on camera, not a rehearsed performance.
On-site time is up to 4 hours. That covers a full job site walk, aerial footage, crew in action, close-up work footage, and the talking head. Most shoots wrap in 2-3 hours.
All footage is color-corrected before delivery. The client receives files formatted for editing, not raw, unprocessed camera files. The footage is ready to drop into any editing software or hand directly to an editor.
What Project Media Looks Like in the Field
SMP has produced project media shoots for contractors across Pennsylvania. Below is an example of the type of footage and assets a single shoot day produces.

J&R Painting
Project Media Shoot

J&R Painting hired SMP for a Project Media shoot — the result was a complete set of job site footage and branded high-resolution photos delivered from a single shoot day. The photos show the crew at work, the finished surfaces, and the scale of the project. This is the type of asset package a painting contractor can use across their website, Google Business Profile, proposals, and social media.
On-Site Production
This is what a Project Media shoot looks like in the field — professional cameras, drone operations, and crew documentation happening while the work is happening.

Most Contractors Who Do This Once Don't Stop Here
Project Media exists because not every contractor is ready to invest in a full Built-to-Trust video engagement. That's fine. The work still has to be done at the right time, and for some businesses, that time is not right now.
What almost always happens after a Project Media shoot is this: the contractor sees what professional footage looks like, starts using it, notices the response, and comes back with a different conversation. Instead of "video is too expensive," the conversation becomes "what would it look like to do this properly?"
SMP's full Built-to-Trust system — brand videos, client testimonials, process videos, and recruitment videos — is what moves a contractor from competing on price to winning on trust. Project Media is the starting point. It is not the destination.
Common Questions
Do I need to prepare anything before the shoot?
No. SMP handles the shot list and directs the crew and talking head on the day. Show up, do the work, and let SMP capture it.
What format are the files delivered in?
Color-corrected MP4 files and DNG or JPG photos (Tier 3), organized and labeled. Ready for import into any editing software, CapCut, or for direct upload to social platforms.
What if I want SMP to edit the footage after delivery?
That can be arranged. SMP can add an editing package after delivery at a separate rate. Alternatively, if the footage produces the results expected and the client wants a full Built-to-Trust engagement, that conversation starts from a position of trust already established.
Is there a contract?
No contract and no retainer. Project Media is a flat-rate service paid before the shoot date is confirmed.
What is the travel policy?
No additional travel charge within Monroe County, PA. Projects outside Monroe County may incur a travel fee. That fee is confirmed in writing before booking is finalized.
